Weekend Adventures Windrock

Y'all... it's hard to stay away from this place!  It's a four wheeler's paradise!  Located in Oliver Springs Tennessee, Windrock Park or Coal Creek is 72,000 acres of four wheeling trails ranging from easy to moderate to hard.  We tend to stay away from the hard trails.  They are more for rock climbing vehicles in my opinion.

We gathered a good bunch of friends, rented a cabin and convoyed up to the mountains on Friday and returned on Sunday.  We cooked in the crock pot, four wheeled all day and enjoyed the heck out of each other's company.  And what's better is that we have one more trip to Windrock in our memories!  Luckily we didn't break anything on our four wheeler this trip.. well that couldn't be fixed on the spot anyway.  There were eleven friends in all and we all made it back in one piece...
or eleven pieces :)

I think we need a theme song... Oh Windrock we love you!

Spooky Spiders

Here is a DC craft.  I have decided (obviously) not to continue the day care blog as it is too much on my teeny brain to keep up with two blogs.  So, from time to time I will share kid stuff on this blog k.

With Halloween looming I put together a little spider craft yesterday for the kiddos.  I prepared ahead by cutting circles and strips out of black card stock.  The kids decorated the circle (body) of the spider with white chalk.  Then we turned the body over and glued the strips (legs) onto the underside.  We gave the legs a little time to dry while the kids used the chalk on the legs.  Next I bent the legs up to give it a 3D affect.  I forced a needle and thread up through the legs and body and making a knot under the body and a looped knot at the top for hanging to form a strand of spider web and give our creepy spider a scary hanging look.

I don't know what about the spider made him creepier by hanging him from a doorway but the kids said it did.  They had fun carrying the spiders around and scaring each other!

Watchin the Tube

HI there!  Today I thought I’d break out and share some of my favorite television programs with you!  I’m not one of those gals who sits on the couch all the time, but I do allow myself to indulge in a few shows on a couple of different nights of the week.  I’m not one to watch cop shows that give the sickos of the world new ideas or a big nature show fan cause I really don’t like to see the lion catch and eat his prey, I know it’s happening…. I just don’t want to see it.  A good dancing show or a funny comedy I can keep up with, on the other hand, I am very fond of!

Here’s my Monday through Wednesday line-up.  These are the ones I will actually sit down and watch and really hate if I miss.  On the other four nights of the week I am doing other things besides watching TV.  Unless Shaun settles the remote on Magnum PI on one of the extra channels.  I like the tropical scenery and Tom Selleck’s shorty shorts. J

Monday – DWTS, Channel 2 at 7:00, ARS, Channel 8 in the off season at 7:00

Tuesday – New Girl at 8:00 and The Mindy Project at 8:30 both on Fox

Wednesday – Nashville on Channel 2 at 9:00

Sometimes it’s hard to find someone who watches the same shows to chat about them.  Besides Shaun and I already know what he thinks cause he watched it with me.  So if you are looking for something new to watch check them out and hit me up!

Phillips General Store

More pics from Bellbuckle last weekend.  As I have said before, Phillips General Store is my favorite spot in Bellbuckle.  I could literally walk around in there for hours and see something new each trip around the store.  I take lots of pictures inside this store.  The items don't seemed cramped even though they are many.  Some stores just seem junky.  The owner, Billy, has got such an eye for decorating and placement of each item in such a cool and collective way that each area flows together perfectly.  Some of my pictures came out a touch blurry but I am going to share them anyway.

I have always thought chenille and Jesus go hand in hand.

Yeah... creepy baby doll!

I really liked this wall of frames and mirrors.

I remember this Jaws game!

And outside (just for the craft fair)

I had a cash register just like this!

By the way... Phillips General Store's Christmas open house is November 22, 23 & 24th.
He has the most beautiful taste in vintage and antique decorating... especially at Christmas.
I hope you can find the time to take a drive down and browse around!  The cafe is not bad either!
