what doin

What doin... that's the text I get when my friend Kim is wanting to drink coffee and talk on the phone.  I love it.  What have I been doin?  A little of this... a little of that....

Last Sunday I went arrowhead hunting with my friend Gilbert up by the Red River in Milldale, TN.  Didn't find any complete ones but dang it was fun.  I could walk around looking at the ground all day.  This is the only picture I took that day.  There are tons of round rocks on the hillside that have flint inside.  I was very impressed.

Here are my findings.

You know I am a big sucker for this stuff.  Quartz.  I have a lot of it that I find in our woods.  This was from Milldale and the rose was from my birthday.  The honey bear belly from the old house Shaun tore down at the street where the trailer sits now.

This is what the scenery went from and to in one week.

This morning I made Fire Cider.  A natural folk remedy for winter time junk.  Recipes found HERE and HERE  Beautiful pictures of the making of mine here....

I asked for this record for my birthday and my lovely family came through for me.  I ordered Shaun an Elvis Christmas record that should be here today.  His birthday is Wednesday.  If he sings Christmas songs... which is rare... but it's always Elvis.  Unless he does that Porky Pig version of Blue Christmas.

But Ella Fitzgerald is what I am loving on and listening to.

And Honey... I'm just waitin on you.

And that's.... what doin.

Around Here

Yesterday was Sunday.  I went for a walk through the woods.  Even though it was bitterly cold.  I was sweating coming up Butterfly Hill.  It's funny how a short walk to see what's going on in the woods can be just what I need.  I even found mushrooms growing.  Most of the creek was frozen on top.  The sound the water makes bubbling through under the ice is relaxing.  One more day towards Spring is the way I look at it.  I know what's hiding under the leaves and snow.  It's still amazing... just like this.....

Around Here

What a beautiful fall.  Shaun says it's my kind of fall because it's unseasonably hot.  He's right.  These days I am all for taking a walk with Kate after work, going bare foot, opening the windows and taking the T-tops out of my car.

Chief.

Tommy loves this weather too.

Can you find the teeny frog?

I have begun calling the little pond by our house Black Pool.  The water is always dark and it's Katie Bug's swimming pool when I don't want to walk her to the bigger ponds.

And I found these on my camera from the summer.

Oh summertime... how I will miss you.

This is the quilt that I started last year... 2015.  I finished it this summer.  It doesn't have any batting or anything... just a top layer and a bottom layer of fabric.  It is the perfect weight for summer.

A laundry visitor.

Not too clear but what a grin!

Around Here

Well Vicky Darlin... this one's for you.

Around here... it's the last day of Spring.
There's a black candle burning in hopes of Spring returning next year.
I'm looking forward to the heat.
To pickin, canning, hanging out and enjoying life.
There's flowers blooming on the porch.
And indoor plants bathing in their summer vacation outside.
Tomorrow is the first day of Summer.
And I can't wait.
It will go by way to fast.
These first pictures are a few from this Spring.
Since I've been too snooty to share!
Or maybe too busy to care.
Either way... while lids on peach preserves are poppin in my kitchen...
here they are.

The new job is going great.
Thanks for askin!
I've missed you too.
If you want to know what any of the plants here are just ask.
Bet you can't name 'em all.
The first full moon of Summer is tonight.
And I'll be dancing naked under it.
I suggest you do too.... at your own house.... preferably after dark if you got neighbors.
Just thought I'd share that.
