I don't know what it is about the color red lately.

Yesterday I mentioned a leaf hunt at the DC and could think of only red leaves.

I am suddenly drawn to it not knowing why because red is not my signature color at all.  

Every time I wear it my face drains of all color.  

So why not just have a look see.. hmm?

You know those days when you get the mean reds?

 The mean reds, you mean like the blues?

 No. The blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?

 Sure.

 Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!

all about maxi

I officially own two maxi-type skirts.  Maxi skirts are long and most of the time flowy and very comfortable while hopefully slendering and flattering.  These are my picks for around the web of maxi skirts that I desire.  Especially the one from Old Navy in the center... yowza that bandana!!  I am over my clothing being tight fitting for the most part and don't like it when fabrics stick to me when it's hot outside.  At the same time, a long skirt could be too hot if it is the wrong type of fabric or doesn't flow with the go.  I am teetering on the ones from Forever21 that have a shorter lining but long, sheerer skirt.  They look like they would be comfy but I'm not sure I trust the lining length.  I have been eyeing the shop on Etsy that makes skirt number two.  Prickly Poppy Fashion.  They are actually closing their shop and reopening in May under their actual name.  Pretty cool except the black skirt isn't available right now.  They all look so comfortable and light enough to curl up on the porch with a book on a semi-70 degree-breezy day, don't you think? 

I wore one of mine to work the other day along with my Kmart favorite hat and my darling husband said I looked Amish.  Maybe because I was working in the garden and have bread rising at home.  Yea.. that's it.

I Love Leather Fringe Bags: It's true.  I've been carrying the same red Skull Creek bag for two years.  I have one back up that I bought from this fabulous etsy seller and friend, Barb.

Peppy Picks Winter Wear

 

I am digging this store that I found online.  The prices on their winter wear is really good.  I'm not one of those bloggers who wears truly expensive clothing and when I feel I find a deal that's worth sharing I am all over it.  I ordered myself a pair of the black fleece lined pants and the camo pair to hunt in.  They are actually men's but I don't care as long as they fit decently.  I didn't say I was going to wear them to the prom... I said hunting ;)  I currently do not own any lined pants of any kind.  I always have to wear leggings or long johns underneath my jeans.  So maybe these will be good for playing outside at the day care this winter and such.  I'll letcha know!  That is all I ordered as of now.  Although I really want to try the heat shirts and the upper body items above.  Toodles!

peppy picks birthday

in mi familia, we always have a birthday get-together when birthday time rolls around.  for the longest time, my birthday was the only one late in the year.  my sisters, mom and dad's birthdays all huddled in january, february and march, while mine hung out there in october.  not complaining... i love being a libra.  when brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews came around, i scooted over and now share this time of year with bunches of birthdays.  there are now four libras in the family!  anyhow, we get each other something for our birthdays and eat cake and all that.  i like to make it easy on my peeps and help them out with things that i might need but don't let myself buy for myself.  i sent this list to them a few weeks ago and thought i'd share my small desires with you on peppy picks!

 

happy 40th birthday to me!  i am getting two basal skin cell places cut off this morning so that's what i'm getting myself for my birthday!  we also have bellbuckle on the 19th and maybe a get-together with friends saturday night to kick off my 40th year.  it's going to be a fun weekend!

By nature I am not a cold weather girl.  Since I really don't have a choice, I choose to look for the comforting aspects of the season.  A warm blanket, a hot cup of coffee, seeing beautiful colors.  my picks are in fall fashion and things that I am loving right now.

 

1   Bruce's Sweet Potato Pancake Mix.  I can only get it at World Market around here.

2   Melmac plates.  Mine are from a yard sale.  They are just like the ones we had growing up.

3   My online friend's beautiful pottery creations.  Melissa of Bridgeman Pottery

4   Gorgeous fall crochet garland.  I only wish my hands could create this.

5   I am usually a vanilla creamer gal but a change in weather sparks a different taste.
