Wow... and seriously... what a weekend. I am right next door to exhausted this morning. Four wheeling and hanging out with boys will getcha sometimes. I had an awesome birthday and got to spend it with some great friends doing what we like.
This is where trail 18 was decided to be the next destination. Rated Extremely Difficult... we tried our luck.
This is right before we almost turned her on her side.
Those gullies can suck you in.
The pictures never do it justice.
It's nice to have good pals along to help.
Believe it or not but this is the fun part of four wheeling to me... outside of mud. Challenges. Who needs a nice smooth trail that kicks up too much dust?
What you can't see in the pictures is that 9 times out of 10 there is a straight down the mountain slope on one side of the trail up here... always. Respect the mountain.
Colt Wayne's first trip to Windrock and first trip to the windmills.

weekend shots
I really had no idea how much I would love my sacred space on the porch.
I've been seeing a lot of hens around. This morning I saw two hens and six babies. I always worry when the hay is cut because they normally nest in the tall grass of the fields.
First batch of hay has been cut, raked and rolled.
Despite the heat of the weekend and needing another hair cut Katie Bug is still ready to play.
I love how the dichondra finds it's was through the teeniest holes.
My roses have been going crazy blooming!!
My shoes are off as much as possible.
Bulbous Begonias growing and doing well.
Something about the top being off of my truck makes me feel good.
My Christmas cactus is slightly confused on the time of year but I am not complaining about this beautiful bloom.
Lazy porch naps.

Recent Shots
Well howdy doo. It's been a couple of weeks since my last confession... I mean post. As I posted a little bit ago I have had some computer problems and for a couple of weeks I ignored my computer and left it at home instead of taking it to work with me and getting frustrated. Then I took it to my repair guy where it spent several days and I got it back last week. In all truth I have enjoyed not having it for the most part. I've read a couple of books and colored in my coloring book to pass the time during naptime. I even sat out on the back porch and worked on my farm girl tan... you know arms and calves with my face covered of course.
Since I've been gone I have had a niece graduate from college, have started walking the driveway at day break again, have had an Amish couple come up for a possible wild herb class to be held here, I've planted seedlings and bulbs, had more ticks attached to me than ever and haven't finished my quilt! Plus we finally bought a new gas grill that I am thrilled about. It's been busy as ever around here. Hopefully we will get the garden planted this coming long weekend although I wish we were going camping somewhere. If we could pull the camper down to the creek camp sight I would be thrilled and pretend I was on vacation!
Killdeer Nest and Eggs
My quilt top finished.
A couple of the graduation party.
A morning walk in the creek.
No wonder my feet like to have froze when we went four wheeling. They held water the second she hit the creek.
