Just a teeny list of things I am slightly addicted to at the moment. 

 

 

Sweatshirt from Target men's department.  I seriously do not want to take it off.  It is so soft and warm, just long enough and just loose enough.  Hard to believe it's made for a man.

 

Also made for men... Hanes 4 pack, v-neck tees in black and gray.  I already expressed my love for the white ones, so I thought I'd get some other colors.  Comfortable and relaxing.

 

Dots skinny jeans.  I have had my pair for at least two years and never wear them... until recently.  They are so comfy and hold me just right and came in at a great price.

 

Roasted peanuts and candy corn!  I have to have a handful every night!  The combination of salted peanuts and candy corn sweetness tastes like a Payday candy bar.  Be sure to get the salted nuts and not be like me who was too cheap to spring for Planters nuts and had to get the lightly salted Kroger brand because that's all they had... not the same.  Boo.

 

Movies based at holiday time.  I was making ornaments last Sunday and watched The Holiday twice and The Family Stone once.  It made me cry too much to watch it twice.  I'm not quite ready tor Elf and A Christmas Story.  Easin' right in to the season here.

Giggle Box Garden

Giggle Box garden update!  Well folks, our little garden at the day care is growing!  The corn has tousled, squash and zucchini are coming in, and the watermelon vines are out of control!  No sign of watermelons as of yet, but we haven't gone is and searched real hard either.  We do know our zinnias are getting covered up by the vines and our poor marigolds are sight unseen for all the tomato vines!  We planted Black Cherry tomatoes that we grew from seed and they do tend to vine also. 

We eat squash and zucchini for lunch that we bake in the oven.  It is so easy and oh so good!  Soon we will be able to try out the corn and tomatoes too!

Comfort Food

When we left to go to church this morning, our thermometer said 60 degrees.  When we got back.. it was 45 degrees.  Now that's a front.  Two hours, in the middle of the day, dropping fifteen degrees and it's just downright not fair.  I am a summer girl at heart that's for sure.  I would much rather go in to church with it a tad cool and come out to a warm sunny afternoon.  I always have trouble adjusting and it can just downright put me in a mood. 

I did, however, welcome this evening's chill outside with warm, comfort food thoughts.  Several years ago I bought a packet of Corn Chowder mix from a Tastefully Simple party and fell in love the minute I tasted this soup.  Unlucky for me the company took the mix out of it's main line and hasn't brought it back since.  But this fall I ran across an easy and oh-so-good recipe here.  That Pioneer Woman is fantastic.  So tonight I made the chowder along with beer cheese bread that is so easy it's silly and invited a few family members over to eat. 

Oh, P.S. I also added teeny, weeny shrimp to the chowder.  YUM

Isn't this the most lovely looking salt you have ever laid eyes on?!?  It came from a friend who is in a salt club.  Have you ever heard of such?  It looks and feels like sand but tastes like salt heaven.
