making plans ~ witch's kitchen

It may seem a little soon to be thinking about Halloween but....

Last year at work we had a pumpkin carving contest.  I entered a pumpkin and won a gift card.  It was a regular pumpkin with a traditional face.  In my heart I started thinking more of wanting to make a diorama in a pumpkin.  When I thought of this it was too late but I have held the images and thoughts of the witch's kitchen in my head.

I think now is the best time to begin.  I am going to buy one of those Funkins... carve-able foam pumpkins.  They are pricey but it's not going to rot like a normal one.  I will have this forever!  I have so many ideas jumping around in my head from making a clay black cat and crow to a curvy stick broom and popsicle stick flooring.  Even dried herbs hanging from rafters.

Here are some inspirational photos from pinterest.

This I want to make today!  It looks like the book from Hocus Pocus!!

Yea... this one is gonna happen.

Here are some of the things for my witch's kitchen that I have already made.

I'm off to find a marble for my crystal ball and maybe get the clay out and get started!

hello gorgeous green

Oh my... I'm pretty sure any couch has ever made my mouth water so.

One day.. we will need a new couch.  I will not have a couch like this with a cat in the house... especially a blonde one.  Not that he's is going anywhere over a couch...

Man these are cool.

All photos found on this pinterest search.

Except this one...

Which is the first one I saw before the salivating began.

Found it in this beautiful French home HERE.

bacon

Y'all.. I wouldn't kid you.  Bacon this way has literally changed my life.  I cook breakfast every morning.  I get up, walk in the kitchen and turn on the oven, take a shower, go to the kitchen and put foil on a sheet pan for my bacon.  Then I put a small piece of parchment paper out for two frozen biscuits and put halves of bacon on the foil.  Put it in the oven at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.  This gives me time to finished getting ready.  When the 20 minutes is about up I am back on the kitchen cooking two eggs and making my lunch for the day.  It's my routine.  I used to stand here frying bacon.  This process is much easier.  I'm telling you.  And oh-so good!

And the clean up is a snap.  Just let the grease cool and throw it away.

fur babies

My Nikon has been dead for a while.  I had to buy a new charger after loosing my other one on a camping trip several months ago.  I don't know that it is lost... I just can't find it.  This is the first time I have used this camera in a while.  It was almost like figuring it out for the first time again.

I took these pictures while hanging out with my friends on the porch 7/3/17.

Happy 4th!
