dc stocking stuffers

The stocking stuffers for the day care were a bit more of a challenge this year.  I have a couple of wee ones that still put things in their mouths so I was buying for different age groups.  I got girl and boy temporary tattoos.  They have all come in wearing them in the past so I figured it was ok.  Little four wheelers for the boys and Frozen figurines for the girls.  I always include pencils and a little something sweet.  The Lemonhead candy canes seemed the best.  And that's what will be in the stockings at the dc NEXT WEEK. I can't believe Christmas is next week.  Hope I'm ready!

Christmas at our house

I opted not to put up the big tree again this year.  I did however bring out my little threesome of alpine trees although not at the same time.  I just put a few things out as the mood struck me.  First I out the medium sized tree in my bathroom and strung the lights across the window to the plug.  I like the raw illumination.  I also found a bunch of birds that I had begun collecting and went through the house to get others and put them on that little tree.  About a week later I brought down the largest of the three trees, unplugged and took down the lamp on top of the fireplace and put that tree there... no ornaments.  On the same day I decided to put the smallest tree by the front door on the porch.  I made sure to secure it from the wind and added a timer so it would come on by itself and feathers that I had.  I also found a vintage garland that I bought at a yard sale sometime and draped it above the kitchen window.  That was it... until this past Sunday when I took the remaining summer hang out things down from the Oasis and back porch which included the white lights above the Oasis.  While wrapping them up on a warm Sunday I decided to make use of the other end of the Christmas lights on the little porch tree and draped lights over the front door.  I like having a lit up door to walk into.  They come on at about five and go off around eleven.  So that's it... Christmas at our house.  Not sure where the presents will go once wrapped.  I really need to get on that.

I have a strand of lights out on the loft over by the coyote.  You can usually see him better.

for christmas for him from me

A Christmas for him... my man.  I can do this because he doesn't read my blog.  And he really only doesn't already know about just one of these gifts.  The Wrangler denim work shirts he asked for and the Harley Davidson safety mirrored sunglasses he always needs and always gets for Christmas or birthday or Valentine's day.  The universal remote he's needed for quite some time and I actually already gave it to him although he hasn't touched it to program it yet.  The pillow is a replacement for one he already has that is nasty.  I don't know why boy's pillows get yucky so fast... I swear he does go to bed clean.  We have both used the Chiro water pillows for a couple of years now and neither wake up with stiff necks anymore.  Plus they are super comfy.

The light whips for our side by side I am having a friend make for us.  When we first saw these they kind of reminded us of someone who is just trying to get attention but on our last ride two of our friends riding with us had them on their machines and after it got dark we found they were pretty cool and useful.  Shaun and I had a flat coming down on pretty good hill and we were the last ones in the chain of four wheelers so they all pretty much went on.  Shaun broke out his handy little compressor and in no time we were back on the trail, even after one friend came back to check on us.  But all the way down through the valley below I could see the light whips and could tell exactly where our friends had gone.  It was really easy to tell who was who and where they were instead of just head lights and tail lights.

So... that's what Santa Laurie is bringing Shaun for Christmas... so don't tell.

for Christmas for me from him

I'm not afraid to make gift suggestions when it comes to a gift giver asking.  I like to make it easy on my man.  Heck I even order what I want from him online and he hands me the money.  I don't have a problem with that.  Most of the time he throws in a surprise or something I don't know about but even if he doesn't that's alright.  The following is what I asked for from him for Christmas.  He's been asking what I wanted for months now.  I actually have not ordered the seasons of the Golden Girls as of yet.  I guess I need to get on that.  But the Philosophy Lemon Custard shower gel from QVC got here yesterday.  I was proud of myself for not tearing into it just to take a lemony whiff.  I can wait two more weeks.  The sweat pants I bought at WalMart and actually didn't make that a Christmas present.  I have been more about comfort lately at the day care and only have two pair.  So I bit the bullet and bought three pair of  $5.96 sweatpants last Saturday.  The OveGlove would be for the day care and I will probably pick that one up somewhere because the prices on Amazon to me are not trustworthy.  Although most of the time I have no problem ordering from Amazon... these just didn't seem right especially on the shipping side.  The speakers are for Black Rose and totally up to him.
