I feel I've always had a love of music of all kinds. I love everything from bluegrass, soul, gospel, 90's rap, hippie, folk, country, Sinatra ( who IS in a class by himself), Christmas music (which I have been listening to since June) and much more. I pulled up folk on Pandora this week. I found a new crush of genre. My new favorite song, among others, is this.
I just want it to be a summer day. Hot... barely swinging in my hammock in the Oasis listening to this.
I also found 98.5 FM on my radio. A listener supported radio so no commercials. LOVE that. I hear anything from folk to bluegrass to The Band. It eases my soul in traffic and sitting still. I wrote this this week...
I want to be comfortable in my own shell
I want to be the skirted, long-haired gardener
Comfortable, make my brew and drink it
Live it always, give in to who I am - not go along
Do what I want, breathe deeply
Take it all in - my surroundings, my creations, may garden, my world
Accept the calm and welcome it - settle down
and be content, breathe the air
Learn to listen to the wind, speak my language
taste my sin, listen to the birds
Allow for time to sit down
let the stillness calm me
to enjoy laid back music w/ no angst
It's a journal entry of mine. It's not finished. I will continue to add to it as I feel it. It is written in pencil. I love a good pencil entry in my journal. It feels different somehow. It's permanent, yet not.

for Christmas for me from him
I'm not afraid to make gift suggestions when it comes to a gift giver asking. I like to make it easy on my man. Heck I even order what I want from him online and he hands me the money. I don't have a problem with that. Most of the time he throws in a surprise or something I don't know about but even if he doesn't that's alright. The following is what I asked for from him for Christmas. He's been asking what I wanted for months now. I actually have not ordered the seasons of the Golden Girls as of yet. I guess I need to get on that. But the Philosophy Lemon Custard shower gel from QVC got here yesterday. I was proud of myself for not tearing into it just to take a lemony whiff. I can wait two more weeks. The sweat pants I bought at WalMart and actually didn't make that a Christmas present. I have been more about comfort lately at the day care and only have two pair. So I bit the bullet and bought three pair of $5.96 sweatpants last Saturday. The OveGlove would be for the day care and I will probably pick that one up somewhere because the prices on Amazon to me are not trustworthy. Although most of the time I have no problem ordering from Amazon... these just didn't seem right especially on the shipping side. The speakers are for Black Rose and totally up to him.

Sunday faves
Sunday was so sunny and beautiful that I didn't have any desire to stay inside. Despite finally giving in and going to the clinic after two weeks and four days of trying to let my body heal itself from a cold and not feeling terribly good from the steroids and antibiotics I stepped outside and right back in to grab my camera and Tommy. I finally planted tulip bulbs from Holland in the pet cemetery and my friends all helped. Then I helped Shaun ready the side by side for our upcoming trip. I took a stroll through our back field and slightly into the woods. I didn't venture down the hill to the creek, although I wanted to, because I had the wrong boots on. Cowgirl boots are too slick on the bottom and no good for walking in a winter creek. Mine are anyways. When I did manage to make myself go back inside I made myself rest a bit and then made granola bars and supper. Happy Winter to all. The days will now gain a touch of daylight every day and it warms my soul. I know I will soon be starting seeds because I get so giddy by February to grow something... and I just can't wait.
Kitty always sit on this log when I am working where the dogs are buried.
Cotton Bottom came a runnin when asking "is that brown rice I smell in that bowl?"
Haven't had a sky like this in weeks.
Black Rose is still down... working on her when every chance.
Tommy enjoying some sunshine.
Cotton's eggs are so big the lid won't close. Bless her heart!

weekend shots
I adore this curtain I bought at a yard sale. I have two and plan on using them as maybe table cloths.
I am completely thrilled with my Dichondra Emerald Falls. It is trailing out of and through the coconut.
I could finally walk in the garden when it began to dry from the rains.
These are in our rows of green beans.
Milkweed.
This mushroom looks like the entrance to a dinner club for fairies the way it makes a
perfect awning at the base of this tree.
I had never seen this plant before.

Flashback: My Thirties
As some of you may already know, my birthday is this month and I will be the big four oh.
I was browsing through my pictures on my pc today and thought I would share a few pics from my thirties. Oh My I only hope I have as much fun in my forties! My life changed so much in just a ten year span.
There are tons of pictures I could have chosen. I just randomly picked these. Some with nieces, friends, sisters, my Shaun... in Florida, in Texas, our cruise, our farm, parties.
Fun stuff.
