Florida Vacation

Just a few more pictures from my trip to Florida with my family.  Some of them are just too dreamy to not share.

Our daily set up.  We loved the semi circle they laid out for us.

I even feed birds on the beach.

To precious not to sneak a pic.

 My sweet Ma.

A storm blew most of us in.  Three of us hid under the umbrellas from the rain.

My dearest Pa.

Three nieces and I ate breakfast on Tuesday at the place where my Baked Brie obsession was born... Another Broken Egg Cafe in Baytowne Wharf, Sandestin.  Here is my recipe for Beautiful Baked Brie.

I actually like my recipe better now.

i want my music back

having a lovely time in florida with my family.  i got a tad too much sun on my belly two days ago.  not enough to make my skin sore... or keep me out of the sun.  the same day i got a little too nostalgic playing in the water listening to my mp3 player and got it wet.  i am now longing for my music beach side and as i am the only one up at this point in the morning having already done my yoga i am debating popping up to the walmart to buy a new music maker.  i am musically driven more times than none.  there is always a concert in my head.  here are tunes that are stuck and wanting to be playing in living color as i watch people walk by today.

i have two nieces that would have liked to sleep in longer than they did.  this is the song my nephew and i cranked as we danced in their room and jumped on their beds monday morning.  think long and hard before ever agreeing to go out of town with me.  as i like to say to my niece lacey... never let it be said that aunt laurie didn't know how to have fun.

love you!  have a good day!

Just Beachy

Well, well, well.  Welcome to my 250th blog post.  It's about a Christmas tree!  In November!  I know... too soon... blah blah, but if you don't get a least a couple of suggestions for Christmas trees you may wind up putting up the same old boring Christmas tree you put up every year.  Which is Ok, but sometimes it's good to explore other options and get down right crafty.

I visited my sister's house today.  She is the Shell Lady.  And the Sand Lady.  She loves the beach and looking for shells and beautifully incorporates her beach inspiration into her home.  This year she had an idea and just couldn't wait to use it and it worked out wonderfully.

Here are a few shots of her beach inspired Christmas tree located in her master bedroom.  She and I alike put up a few different trees each year.  So she will have other trees that I may show you too after Thanksgiving when they go up.

Just brill!  She made the twine balls by using simple plain ball ornaments and gluing twine all the way around.  Twine can be purchased at the dollar store for just one dollar so realistically you could make up a dozen of these for under five dollars.  I love all the shells and she also used the twine again glued on for the hangers.  Isn't she a smartie?!  Great job!
