Weekend Finds

This past Friday was the 'Ka-Ching' yard sale day.  Not that I really bought a lot.  But there were a lot of sales and I only regret not buying one set of chairs.  I even ran into one of the kindergarten teachers from elementary school from back in tha day.  The one who went "SSSSSS" instead of "Shhhh."   I had to cut the day short because of an appointment.
I am happy with my finds and here they are.

My spending on all this lovely loot was around $13.00.  The most I paid for anything was $4.00 for the enamelware colander... but we both know I have a "leave no enamelware behind" policy.
My favorite thing I got is the green Wheaton ink well bottle.  It was seventy five cents.  Most of my other items were around a quarter.

Weekend Finds: Sharing the Love

If you live anywhere near Tennessee, you are well aware of how much rain we had over the weekend.  Between Thursday and Sunday morning we gathered a whopping eight and a half inches of rain.  Crazy weather for July and not so good weather for the garden.  Needless to say, there was no yard sailing this past weekend.  I did however get a "clean out" bug and cleaned out my cabinet that houses all my old vases and pitchers that I use to hold flowers on my table and where ever.  I had to make some tough decisions on which ones to get rid of.  I made a garage sale box and decided to list some on my etsy site Peppysis to pass along some love to anyone who's interested.

If you find something you really like and are local, we can do away with the shipping and you can come get it or whatever.  I hope you enjoy!

As an avid collector of junk, I have a hard time letting go of things sometimes.  Thinking "I'm going to wish I still had that one day."  But one can't possible keep everything... can they?  I guess if you want more room to walk in your house besides down pathways through junk!  It's not that bad really.

Weekend Finds

This past Friday, my sister Mary Evelyn (my yard sale partner in crime) and I decided to hit a few sales and actually didn't spend but a couple of hours on the road.  We probably visited a good handful of sales and here's the loot I wound up with.

It's funny that the stuff I bring home finds it's spot so quickly.  I already have seeds planted in the bucket, have washed and worn the smock, have the pillowcases on my bed, the glasses in my cabinet and have ran through both of the sprinklers!  Nothing makes me feel like a kid again than a quick trot through sprinkler water!

Sprinklers 2.00
Old First Aid Box 5.00
Silver Bowl 1.00
Watering Can 1.00
Vintage Smock .25
Tumblers with Caddy 3.00
Breakfast Glasses (old cheese jars) 4 for 1.00
Vintage Beautiful Pillowcases 2 for 1.00
Enamelware Bucket $4.00

Weekend Finds

From the writer (me) who brought you Weekend Finds from the Historic District in Springfield Tennessee sale last week, we have.... week two.  Because sometimes I don't want to spoil all the fun in one blog post.  And sometimes I want more stuff to post on.  Either way my main goal is sharing with you!  xoxo

This is the darker colored items that I bought a couple of weekends ago.

I am really liking the long braided trivet on our table.  It still had the tags on it.

I am more than halfway through this book right now.

I am currently using this crock-spittoon on the back porch for a water bowl for Miss Kate.
Collecters would be shocked I'm sure.

Old Crock Spittoon: $1.00
Braided Trivet: $1.00
Wildlife Refuge Sign from the 50's: $4.00
Child's Rocking Chair: $3.00
