4 Etsy Finds

Well hey y'all!!!  I've been off work since Thursday... needed a little Laurie time... and I've thought about blogging every day.  It really doesn't take that much time but it's the fact of stopping what I am doing to stare a the computer.  No thanks.  But over coffee on Sunday morning.... OK! 

I've been on Etsy this morning... drooling. 

I am in absolute love with the morel walking stick.  Amazing.  I showed it to Shaun and he said "oh, you need that!"  Here is the LINK.

These earrings!  I've got to where I don't ever wear earrings because they make my earlobe itch.  But these are beautiful!  Here is the LINK.

I actually did buy this soap.  Activated charcoal is supposed to be good for skin problems as is rosemary.  This soap has both.  Here is the LINK.

8 etsy finds

what an amazing morning.  clear headed, light snow falling, dirty hair.  ive been hunting around on etsy this morning.  not really for anything in particular.  but oh the stuff you can find that makes you wish you had a five hundred dollar bill handy to get whatever. 

i did buy the black rose seeds.  and if you don't know why... you should if you know me at all.

the libra journal is precious.  i have bought other journals from her in the past.  love them!

the moon ring.  oh if only precious stones weren't so pricey.

if i could crochet i would buy this pattern and begin immediately.

sticks, stones, feathers, bones... these are 4 of my favorite things.  just look around my home.

fantastic leather sandals.  beautiful but too flat for me.  i still want them.

amethyst soap.  would look so lovely on my bathtub shelf with all the other crystals.

i once had a ring with a band like that.  i lost it at the beach.  never got over it.

Our four wheeling trip to the mountains last week was fantastic.  We rode over three hundred miles.  Our longest day was about one hundred miles through the mountains.  We went all the way to an area called "The Flats" which is exactly what it was.  Flat mesa type hilltops with no trees and green grass.  I didn't take my camera four wheeling this time at all, sad to say.  But in this area we saw six wild elks along with some white tailed deer, multiple fantastic views of Tennessee and I found shiny rocks everywhere around there which I really like!  I stuck a few in my pocket to bring home.

 

I wish you could really tell how brilliant these are and how they catch the light.  Amazing.

 

 

These came from a different area of the mountain where my little friend and I were playing in the creek.  Not as pretty as the others but I will not forget where they came from.

 



tipsy for spring tops

Oh geez y'all!  I love it and I hate it when my nose gets attached to my laptop screen half drooling over spring tops.  I got really hooked on the Forever21 site the other day and truly can't believe I only picked five tops to share with you.  When I find a flowy top all I can envision is me standing outside on a hot summer day feeling cooled because the breeze has my shirt flowing in the wind instead of the summer heat making my top stick to my skin.  Aah.  And for some reason I also see brown, dead grass... but that could be some other issue.  Here are five shirts I chose to share with you.

I've also found in the past that if you don't get to antsy and order everything you want right away, you can probably catch it on sale within a few weeks.  Their stock rotates pretty quick.  I got a $32.00 sweater for $9.95 because I waited until after Christmas to order it.  Luckily they still had it.  If they didn't then I didn't need it to begin with!

Anybody who watches tv around here should know that little tune, It's a good day today, from the Goodwill guy on their commercial.  Me and Mary Evelyn were singing it yesterday afternoon while walking around the Nashville Flea Market.  Which is what I wanted to share with you this morning.  It's going to be a good day today in Nashville, weather wise and all, and the Nashville Flea Market is this weekend.  There's not too many yard sales going on yet and this is a good place to get your feet wet with bargains.  We came away with several yesterday!  Almost makes me want to go back today!

I don't know what people do with these but they are everywhere out here!

I am in look for rugs like this.  I don't need expensive ones although I do enjoy them as well.  Gives me something to garage sale for this summer.

I also bought the enamelware refrigerator tray here on the left.  It has rusty holes in the bottom and will be the new home of a couple of herbs in a couple of months!  Yay!

Weekend Finds

 

This past Friday, my sister Mary Evelyn (my yard sale partner in crime) and I decided to hit a few sales and actually didn't spend but a couple of hours on the road.  We probably visited a good handful of sales and here's the loot I wound up with.

 

It's funny that the stuff I bring home finds it's spot so quickly.  I already have seeds planted in the bucket, have washed and worn the smock, have the pillowcases on my bed, the glasses in my cabinet and have ran through both of the sprinklers!  Nothing makes me feel like a kid again than a quick trot through sprinkler water!

Weekend Finds

I am really liking the long braided trivet on our table.  It still had the tags on it.

 

 I am more than halfway through this book right now.

 

 I am currently using this crock-spittoon on the back porch for a water bowl for Miss Kate.

Collecters would be shocked I'm sure.

Weekend Finds

Oh wow Y'all.  What a busy Saturday full of yard sale-ing!  My sister Mary Evelyn, my niece Kristen and I all got up extra early and headed to Springfield to the sales in the historic district.  Lots of people in different houses along the streets participate.  I wish, wish, wish I had taken my camera along.  From the architecture to hidden backyard gardens with water features, this area of town is fabu!  And so were most of the sales.  Mary E scored on a few pieces of furniture and other items.  Kristen lugged home the cutest pink vintage trash can, metal with a foot pedal lid among other things.  And I drug home this fantastic stuff!

I adore this plug in clock.  If you listen close it has a hum when it is plugged in.  Just like the one my Grandmother had on the back of her bed.  The alarm works too!  $1.00 for the clock and milk glass vase.  .50 cents for the footed glass dish.

 Pyrex makes me smile and teetee a little when I find a piece. $1.00

The rug here is lovely, shabby chic and I wanted it to go in my bathroom.  I will tell on myself a bit here.  I cleaned it... in a cooler... because it is way too heavy to go in the washing machine.  It came somewhat cleaner than it is here and it smells a whole lot better.  It is handmade... hook-a-rug style with a backing sewn on crooked.  I thought when I washed it I could stretch it to make it square up but no such luck.  Don't know if I will be keeping this one unless I find something else to do with it.  The cat sure likes it.  I paid $3.00 for it.

 

I also got two vintage chenille bedspreads, one of them older than the other.  I paid $35.00 for both of them.  It's more than I normally spend at a sale but these things go for way more online.  Not that I am selling them, I plan to use them, and I just couldn't leave them laying there!

This is the other bedspread.  Folded up but you can see on the right how fluffy it is even though it is folded with the underside up.

I also bought this old flannal back table cloth for $1.00... maybe less... don't recall.I use them at the DC to cover the tables and the older ones seem to hold up better.
